Acer Chromebooks - Chromebook Operating System Does Not Affect (ChromeOS )
This record applies to Acer Chromebook computers with ChromeOS.
This file explains what to do if your Acer Chromebook has power but does not boot up into the os. In case the computer is still unresponsive, collapses, or even has a dark screen, then follow the steps within this document to resolve the situation.
In case your Chromebook has no power, go to Chromebook Does Not Power On or Charge Battery.
- Remove outside apparatus
- When the Chromebook does not even start, eliminate any USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential apparatus including external hard drives and other related devices.
- Measure 1: After you have removed all external devices, turn onto the Chromebook.
- When the computer starts, reconnect devices one at the same time, and restart the Chromebook each time you connect any device to work out which device is causing the problem. You're done.
- When the machine still does not even start or exhibits exactly the exact same problem, move to the next step to do a hard reset.
- Measure 2: Perform a hard reset
- A difficult or forced reset erases all information in the memory. This forces the machine to clear and reestablish the application's connections between your BIOS and the hardware.
- A hard reset doesn't get rid of any regional files or preferences. The computer turns off and then turns again.
- If necessary, press the power button to switch on the Acer computer.
- If the difficulty persists, continue to the next measure.
- Step 3: Execute system retrieval
- A system recovery completely erases any local files or settings and returns on the computer to its initial factory-shipped state.
- When a hard reset does not resolve your issue OR that your Chromebook indicates the error message Chrome OS is missing or damaged, you might need to execute something recovery. For step by step instructions go to Chromebook Assist Center and search for re-covering your Chromebook
